On Friday, January 20th, 2023, the Commander of the 5th Special Forces Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Žochňák, met with Mrs. Elizabeth Masnicová, director of the Center for Children and Families in Bytča. On the occasion of their first meeting – Lieutenant Colonel Žochňák handed over a financial gift from the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and packages of sweets for children from the center. At the meeting they, also discussed and arranged cooperation for the coming year.

     The staff of the center creates an environment for children which is conducive to the all-embracing and harmonious development of each one of the children. They provide background, safety, love, understanding and the necessary preparation for coping with an independent life. We, the soldiers, are happy to be able to contribute to the improvement of their lives with visits, an annual collection of clothing and sporting goods.
